Scared Or Anxious To See A Dentist? We Can Help You
We understand that some people are nervous about visiting the dentist – whether because they have especially sensitive teeth, they fear scolding about their oral hygiene or dental procedures upset them. We want to put your worries to rest, and reassure you that we will be gentle and do all we can to avoid causing any pain or discomfort.
We guarantee that if our procedures are upsetting you or causing you pain, we will stop immediately and either find an alternative or offer painkillers or sedation before we continue. As for those who don’t like hearing that their oral hygiene isn’t good enough, we do not lecture, and if you don’t take care of your teeth to the extent that you are afraid of the dentist, you really need to see one.
If you ask us for sedation, or we have to give it to you for a procedure, you will need to bring someone with you to drive you home afterwards. The quality of our care or the thoroughness of an inspection will not be compromised, however, by any sedation or painkiller you are given.
We have a number of sedation options. Our preferred method is to simply give you a tablet or liquid to swallow, which will make you feel drowsy and relaxed, but not totally unconscious. For more advanced surgeries and procedures, such as wisdom teeth removal, we use an IV sedative that will knock you out. We also provide local anaesthetic for fillings and other minor procedures.
